Welcome to the Underriver Cricket Club Website

The Underriver Cricket Club is a very active one - both for players and non-players alike. The ground itself nestles in parkland, surrounded by gently rolling fields and bordered by hedges and flowering rhododendrons, and boasts its own clubhouse named The John Hitchcock Pavilion.

The Cricket Club fields both a Saturday and a Sunday side throughout the cricket season and young and not-so-young players are encouraged to turn out for the sides on a regular basis. The teams are highly competitive and have regularly featured strongly in the local leagues and have performed extremely well in the National Knockout Competition for village sides.

In the past, the Club has also undertaken tours to France, Holland and as far afield as Zimbabwe.

There are also many activities for those non-playing members, and regular events during the year include Quiz Nights, a treasure hunt & bbq and an annual dinner.

Assistance is required by players at the beginning of the season in helping the head groundsman prepare the pitch and ensuring that the facilities within the pavilion have survived the winter shutdown. Assistance is also required throughout the playing season in maintaining the grounds.
